Dr. Ifeyinwa Mbakogu is an assistant professor at the School of Social Work, Dalhousie University. Her research has focused on gender in advertising, African diaspora studies, communication for development, human trafficking, forced migration/displacement resulting from new conflicts and new wars, re-integration/resettlement and social policy. Her current interests are within art-based re-telling methods and media to inform interaction with people dealing with trauma. She initiated the International Conference on Women and Children (ICWC) in 2011, and has been the Chair since its inception.
