Akm Alamgir, a mixed-method community-based researcher, is the Director of Organizational Health and Learning at Access Alliance, a community health centre in Toronto. He is also an Adjunct Professor with the School of Social Work at York University.

He earned his PhD in evaluation, Master's degree in epidemiology, and Bachelor's in medicine. He practices the co-production approach for intersectional analysis in research and evaluation for understanding the social determinants of health for vulnerable communities.

Two of his current research projects are- (i) Impact of social isolation on refugee youth (CYRRC funded), and (ii) Expressive Arts-therapy for healing victims of gender-based domestic violence (PHAC funded). His manuscripts are published in peer-reviewed journals.
