Howard Ramos is a Professor of Sociology and Chair of the department of Sociology at Western University. He is also an adjunct professor at Dalhousie University and member of the Canadian Statistics Advisory Council. He has published on immigration and refugee issues, ethnicity, race, social movements, human rights, Indigenous mobilization, and environmental advocacy. He is currently working on projects looking at Atlantic Canadians perceptions of change, secondary cities, environmental advocacy, and the integration of immigrants and refugees.
